Empowering the Next Generation: A Day of Inspiration at Wesley College with WIMBIZ (Big Sister)


Our partnership with WIMBIZ Big Sister recently brought an unforgettable day of inspiration and learning to the young girls of Wesley College in Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria on the 27th of September 2024. The event was designed to empower the next generation of female leaders, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to build a bright and successful future.

The day covered a wide range of exciting and relevant topics, from career planning to financial responsibility, personal hygiene, and more. These discussions aimed to provide the girls with practical tools to navigate their personal and professional growth.

Key speakers included:

Tolulope Macaulay – focused on building self-confidence and developing interpersonal relationships.

Tosin Oguleye – guided the girls through career and entrepreneurial paths.

Vivian Okwechie – addressed personal hygiene and grooming, sharing vital tips for self-care.

Serah Oluwagbayela and Lady Cheta Nwabuike – led insightful discussions on preparing for the next chapter in life, offering valuable advice for future planning.

Funmi Ige-Martins – tackled the challenges of dealing with peer pressure, empowering the girls to make positive decisions.

The Powergas women team, led by Lady Cheta Nwabuike, one of our esteemed Executive Directors overseeing Legal, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), HR, and Administration, was proud to participate in the event. Their collective goal was to guide these young minds toward a future filled with possibilities and success.
